Cookies & browser storage
Updated September 9, 2026
Your choice
Ishtar Insights uses local storage, a way to save information in your browser. Optional saving is off until you choose “Allow saving.” Choosing “No optional saving” lets you continue using the readings; information entered during your visit stays in the page’s memory and is lost when the page is closed or reloaded.
What we save
- Your storage choice: whether you allowed or declined optional saving. We remember this in local storage so we can respect your choice on later visits.
- Birth profile, only with permission: birth date, time, selected birthplace and chart settings you provide.
- Deck choice, only with permission: your selected reading deck.
- Daily card, only with permission: the card and orientation for a date.
These entries have no automatic expiry. They remain until you remove them in your browser, or turn off optional saving. Turning it off removes saved birth profiles, deck choices and daily cards; we retain the allow/decline choice. Details already displayed in an open page remain available until you close or reload it.
Cookies and outside services
The app sets HTTP cookies only when you sign in to an account: a session cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days and a CSRF token cookie that protects your account requests. These are strictly necessary for the account to work, are set regardless of the optional saving choice, and are removed when you sign out. The app includes no advertising or analytics trackers. Local storage is not automatically sent with web requests. Birth and numerology calculations happen in your browser; the app does not send your entered birth details or names to our server.
The main page loads fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google to retrieve them, sharing connection information such as your IP address and browser request headers. See Google Fonts privacy information. The site’s server also receives ordinary web requests needed to deliver pages and images, which may be recorded in server access logs. This policy describes browser storage, not a complete privacy policy for server operations.
Links to source websites open third-party services whose own privacy and cookie policies apply.
Newsletter signup
With optional saving enabled, we remember that you completed a guest newsletter signup so the signup box stays hidden on later visits in this browser. This stores only a signup flag, not your email address. Turning off optional saving clears the saved flag. Signed-in readers use their account’s newsletter preference.
Newsletter signup is a separate choice. If you join, your email and signup permission are sent to our server. Browser-storage permission does not subscribe you. See Newsletter privacy for details and removal options.
Accounts
Signing in is optional. With an account, you can save birth details and readings on our server so they are available on other devices. The “Save my birth details to my account” switch in your account area controls birth-detail saving independently of optional browser saving. Turning it off removes the saved birth profile and stops future birth-detail saves until you turn it on again. You can reopen the browser-saving choice from your account area or “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page. You can remove synced details, delete saved readings, or delete the whole account from the account panel on the main page.
Change your choice
Use “Cookie settings” in the footer of the main page at any time, then select your preference. Declining optional saving removes this app’s saved readings and preferences from this browser. You can also use your browser’s site-data controls to remove all stored data, including your choice. Settings apply separately to each browser and to the www and non-www addresses. If your browser blocks storage, the readings still work, but your choice may not be remembered.
